POLAR 2018 is the premier polar conference, convened by the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) and the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC). This June it will be held in Davos: https://www.polar2018.org/

The conference has a polar heritage session and a related side event; IPHC members are making a substantial contribution to this aspect of the programme. There are also conference sessions related to art, history, museums, and the humanities and social sciences – each on a
separate day.

During the conference, there will be an IPHC meeting (time and venue t.b.c.), the first to be held in the Swiss Alps.

There are three heritage related sessions, with ‘Polar Heritage: Politics, Policy, Practice’ being the session for those involved with in situ polar heritage. Also, the ICOMOS International

Polar Heritage Committee (IPHC) will be having a meeting at POLAR2018.

Please take this opportunity to engage with your fellow polar heritage practitioners, educators, academics, and the wider polar community.
